Motivite-fueled Jimmy Albertson Rebounds at Phoenix Supercross

Jimmy Albertson had high expectations when he pulled into Anaheim stadium for the opening round of the 2013 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series last weekend. Unfortunately, Albertson was stricken with illness and unable to compete in the event. After a week of rest and healing, he was ready to try his hand at round two in Phoenix.

Riding aboard his #55 MotoThump/HRT/Merge Racing 450cc Honda, Motivite Electrolyte-powered Albertson was quickly up to speed and looking cool, calm and collected on the technical Phoenix track. In the first 450cc heat race, Albertson rode a respectable race en route to an 11th place finish, just two spots shy of a direct main event transfer.

After coming out of the gate in second position in the Last Chance Qualifier, Albertson wasted little time passing into the lead. Once out front, he would successfully fend off repeated charges from reigning Outdoor National Champion Ryan Dungey to take the race win.

Albertson used quick and consistent laps in the main event to achieve a respectable 19th place finish. He is looking forward to an even more successful outing next weekend at Anaheim 2.
